Jaguar sets X-type wagon prices
18 February 2004 Jaguar's new X-type estate will cost from £21,165 when it goes on sale in March, a premium of between £1050 and £1150 over the saloon. The range starts with the identically priced 128bhp 2.0-litre diesel and 155bhp 2.0-litre V6 petrol, which both have front-wheel drive. The 2.5-litre V6 petrol costs from £23,920 while the range-topping 3.0-litre V6 petrol starts at £27,770. Both of these models are four-wheel drive. Although the diesel X-type wagon closely matches its Audi A4 Avant, BMW 3-series Touring and Mercedes C-class estate rivals on price, it is considerably cheaper in petrol guise. With a maximum load volume of just over 1400 litres, the Jaguar can carry more than its German rivals. Its rear windscreen can be opened independently of the tailgate, while a concealed storage area beneath the floor includes a power socket for charging mobile phones or laptop computers. |
