A new limited edition X-type XS is now available from Jaguar.

Saloon and estate versions are available with either the 2.0-litre diesel or 2.5-litre V6 petrol engines. Prices start at £22,995, so the XS is £1000 more than a standard S-trimmed car.

A package of extras worth around £2745 is fitted, however, including 18-inch alloy wheels, black wire-mesh grilles, a choice of four metallic paint finishes, electrically-folding door mirrors, parking sensors, silver exhaust trim and special XS badging. Saloon versions also feature side sills and a boot spoiler while the estate has silver roof rails.

Dealers will have just as much profit margin in the XS as any other car from the range, so don't listen to any salesman that tells you he can't offer a discount. Aim to knock the list price down by around 8.5% and pay from £22,665 for the 2.5-litre V6 petrol and £21,040 for the diesel.
