Spirit of the X-type
13 October 2004 Powered by a 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine, developing 191bhp, the £23,800 Spirit is £230 more expensive than a standard S-trimmed model. Additional equipment justifies the extra cost, however, including cruise control, leather seats and climate control. These options alone would push the price of an S-trimmed X-type to around £25,500. The Spirit is also fitted with the new Sports Collection range of body-styling extras as standard. Costing £1495 on other X-types, the package aims to give the Jaguar a more athletic appearance with a lower front spoiler, side sills and rear bumper, as well as black mesh grille covers and a larger rear boot spoiler. In all, 450 Spirit cars will be available in a choice of four colours. |
