Honda launches its revised Civic small hatch on November 1 with a new face and improved refinement - but hasn't increased list prices.

The face-lift includes new front and rear lights, an updated grille and new bumpers, plus suspension changes to improve the car's driving refinement. The new Civic will cost from £10,000 for the entry-level 1.4-litre petrol model - the same as the outgoing car.

Three-door models will be available in E, SE and Sport trims, plus in Type-R hot hatch form. Five-door Civics will be available in E, SE, Executive and sporty-looking Type-S spec.

Sport, Type-S and Type-R models won't be launched until next January, however. The updated Type-R, which costs £16,000, has a revised clutch and flywheel which help cut 0.2sec off its 0-60mph time, taking 6.6sec.

Every car in the range has anti-lock brakes, twin front airbags, power windows and remote central locking. All models except the 1.4 E and Type-R are fitted with air-conditioning and side airbags.
