Civic sharpens up its act
04 September 2003 The updated range arrives in November, although prices have yet to be announced. Honda claims it has improved handling across the range by working on the suspension, and says steering is crisper. The manufacturer has also worked to improve refinement with new sound insulation materials, and has paid particular attention to reducing road and wind noise. Both five- and three-door models are spruced up at the front with reshaped bumpers, mesh grilles and wider air intakes. Projector-style headlights also mark the new cars out and provide more intense illumination and a broader spread of light. Side sills are now body-coloured, while five-door models get a revised rear end with new bumper, tailgate spoiler and redesigned lights. The sporty top-of-the-range Type-R shaves 0.2 seconds off its previous sprint to 60mph, now posting a time of 6.6 seconds thanks to a lighter flywheel. |
