Honda's CR-V gets a face-lift
11 November 2004 Prices for the 2.0-litre petrol in entry-level SE trim have risen £200 to £17,200. Sport trim is £450 more expensive than before at £18,750, while top-of-the-range Executive models rose £400 to £21,400. The new 2.2-litre diesel is expected to cost from £18,600. The diesel has already impressed in the Accord executive car range. It develops 138bhp - 10bhp less than on the petrol CR-V, but it is still faster and returns 11.1mpg more on the combined fuel cycle. Its lower emissions attract a 21% company car tax rating, eight bands lower than the petrol's. That means a higher-rate taxpayer will pay £35 a month less to run the diesel CR-V. The face-lift includes updated bumpers, headlights and body mouldings, protective strips and mudguards. The diesel model will also be fitted with a tailgate spoiler. Sport and Executive models have gained curtain airbags as standard, as well as a new steering wheel design with integrated stereo and cruise control switchgear. Upgraded upholstery has been fitted, and Honda's new rear headrest design is intended to improve rear visibility. Honda said it has also enhanced the CR-V's permanent four-wheel-drive system for better acceleration, improved hill-climbing ability and better cornering. |
