Then you watch a couple of videos of motoring journalists driving them pretty hard and you think ‘flippin’ ‘eck it looks good’.

Now on sale, Ford’s mega hatch has a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine developing 300bhp. It will accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 163mph.
