Huge demand for the Ford Focus RS means buyers won’t be able to get a car for at least six months.
Half of the 8,000 Focus RSs being built are destined for the UK and 2,000 deposits have already been placed for the car.
Reduced working hours at the factory in Saarlouis, Germany which builds the RS have also contributed to the delay.
The hotly-anticipated 300bhp hot hatch goes on sale on Wednesday with a price tag of £25,740.
It’s the most powerful front-wheel-drive car Ford has ever built, and uses special Revoknuckle suspension to ensure the car has the grip to match its prodigious performance.
With a top speed of 163mph, the Focus RS is the fastest production-built hot hatch in the UK.
