This isn’t just any old Ferrari FXX – just 29 of these track-only race cars were intended to be built with this model bearing that magic number.
After the production run was completed, Ferrari decided to build one more – for Mr Michael Schumacher.
Dressed as The Stig, Schumi took his black FXX round the Top Gear track in the last series, lapping the famous circuit in a record time of 1 minute 10.7 seconds.
The lap demonstrated the car’s racing pedigree with its carbon brakes glowing under the heat produced.
Ferrari unveiled the FXX at the 2005 Bologna Motor Show describing it as ‘the most technologically advanced GT car ever to emerge from Maranello’.
It was designed for the super-rich to compete in a series of 14 track events organised by Ferrari on various international level circuits including the Nürburgring.
To create the FXX, Ferrari based its epic racer on its fastest ever production car, the Enzo.
The 6-litre V12 engine was enlarged to 6.3-litres, developing 800bhp at 8,500rpm. Thanks to F1 technology, the FXX can change gear in less than 100 milliseconds.
When tested by Ferrari, the FXX lapped the Fiorano test track in less than 1 minute 18 seconds.
In comparison, the Enzo lapped the track in 1 minute 24.9 seconds – the FXX does boast 40 per cent more downforce.
With one owner, this FXX has covered 1,200km (745 miles) and is being offered by Nash-Konig – the dealer who is also advertising a Lamborghini Reventon and a Bugatti Veyron.
At £1.85 million, the FXX replaces the £1.5 million Koenigsegg CCXR as the most expensive car to appear on Auto Trader.
So who should buy this FXX? Two people spring to mind: Jay Kay and Simon Cowell.
The Jamiroquai star turns 40 in December and is well-known for his Ferrari love and racing exploits.
And what better way to celebrate his 50th birthday than for X-Factor star Cowell to buy himself a Fezza to go with his Bugatti Veyron?
