25 May 2007 by Stuart Milne Is this the best looking Ferrari ever made? The Vandenbrink 599 GTO is a modern interpretation of a classic masterpiece – the Ferrari 250 GTO – and is based on the current Ferrari 599 GTB. Dutch coachbuilders Vandenbrink Design designed the 599 GTO, which features bespoke aluminium bodywork with the trio of bonnet vents and upswept rear which became trademarks of the 1960s supercar. Vandenbrink is planning to build five models and three have already been snapped up purely on the strength of the computer generated images featured here. There are no performance figures available, but featuring the 599's 611bhp 6-litre V12 engine, the Vandenbrink is likely to be capable of more than 200mph. Autocar magazine recently claimed the Ferrari 599 GTB "the most complete GT on sale today", but critics claim the Vandenbrink has to be even better to live up to the iconic GTO moniker. But on looks alone, the Dutch masterpiece has the Italian original licked. Click here for more pictures of the Vandenbrink 599 GTO Auto Trader links Ferrari stories Other supercar stories |
