25 October 2007 Click here for more pictures of the 600bhp Dodge Viper SRT-10 The most powerful ever Dodge Viper SRT-10 has been announced – with the American supercar getting 600bhp on tap. The 8.3-litre 510bhp V10 engine is replaced by an all-new 8.4-litre lump producing a mammoth 600bhp and 560lb/ft of pulling power. This accelerates the Dodge Viper SRT-10 from 0-60mph in ‘less than four seconds’ with Dodge not confirming the Viper SRT-10’s top speed. But with 90bhp more than the 190mph outgoing model, we’d expect the Viper to be touching 200mph. On top of this added power, the Dodge Viper SRT-10 gets awesome vented disc brakes which enable a 0-100-0mph time of about 12 seconds. The 600 Detroit-built horses are channelled to the 19-inch rear wheels through a six speed manual gearbox. Although not yet confirmed, it’s expected the Dodge Ram will also get the engine, making it one of the world’s fastest ever pick-up trucks. But if you want one, you’ll have to import it. Dodge confirmed today the Dodge Viper SRT-10 won’t be available through UK dealers when it goes on sale in North America next year. The Dodge Viper SRT-10 will be available as a roadster or a coupe with prices starting at $83,895.
