Citroen has streamlined its big-selling Xsara Picasso MPV range from four to two trim levels.

The UK’s most popular MPV will only be built around the Desire and VTX versions with the entry-level Desire featuring air-con, four airbags, and CD player as standard.

The sportier VTX boasts 15-inch alloys, cruise control and rear parking sensors and is aimed at company car drivers.

Both models are available with a 1.6HDi diesel or petrol engine, while the Desire has a more powerful 110bhp diesel as an option.

Prices for the Xsara Picasso start from £9,995 rising to £12,545.
