New Picasso is MPV masterpiece
05 January 2007
Citroen has pulled the wraps of its latest MPV – the five seat C4 Picasso – and has become the only car maker with three compact MPVs in its range.
Sitting between the budget Picasso and the seven seat C4 Picasso - which is now known as the Grand C4 Picasso - the new five seat version promises bold styling and a radical interior which has made its big brother such a success.
Like the C4 hatchback, which has two distinct rears for the three and five door versions, the five seat C4 Picasso has all-new rear lights, tailgate and rear windows – and a more sporty, lower roofline.
With all five seats in use, the new model has a class-leading 500 litres of boot space, rising to 1,734 litres with the seats folded. It can also be equipped with an integrated trolley to move luggage to and from the car.
The five seat C4 Picasso is available with a 1.8 or 2-litre petrol engine, although the 1.6 and 2-litre diesels are likely to be the most popular choices.
Citroen have confirmed the new C4 Picasso will be available in the first few months of 2007.
