New BMW 320si on the way
25 November 2005 The 320si will arrive in March and is likely to cost £24,975, a little cheaper than the standard M Sport model on which it is based. The engine has been tuned to provide 173bhp instead of the standard 150bhp, and the car is also 10kg lighter, thanks to a carbon fibre cylinder head cover. All in all, it provides an added dose of performance, but fuel and company car tax bills are inevitably more expensive, as you can see from the table below. BMW has also given the 320si a unique look, but don't worry - it doesn't mean you'll be doing your daily commute in full race livery. Instead, a set of unique 18-inch alloy wheels graces the 320si, which also has the M Sport package of styling features and sports suspension. With a hand-built engine from the company's Hams Hall engine plant in Coventry, the 320si celebrates BMW Team UK driver Andy Priaulx's win in this year's World Touring Car Championship. In all, 2600 of the cars will be built, with 500 available to UK buyers.
