Third of car buys driven by stereo - Buyers choose cars by music system

01 May 2007

by Alex Eckford

More than a third of motorists say a car's stereo is a deciding factor when it comes to choosing a new model.

And almost three quarters of drivers say they love listening to loud music in their cars, with two thirds saying they would be against any law on how loud in-car stereos should be.

Thousands of you took part in our car noise survey which also revealed you thought programmes like Pimp My Ride glamorised the use of loud in-car stereo systems.

The results come after the RAC revealed drivers who listen to loud music in their cars are risking their safety.
