The incident, which took place in the early hours of Friday, November 27, has created a media frenzy with Woods refusing to speak to police.

Instead Woods – who has won 14 Majors – issued a statement on his website, stressing the crash was entirely his fault and praising his wife for ‘acting courageously’ when she saw the star ‘hurt and in trouble’.

He was issued with a traffic citation for careless driving and fined £99 as Florida Highway Patrol concluded their investigation into the crash.
