A Liverpool and England fan snapped up Steven Gerrard’s Range Rover Sport yesterday – after seeing our story on Auto Trader.

Yesterday we reported on how the 400bhp Range Rover Sport HST was for sale on Auto Trader and it was soon off the market.

Within an hour of reading our story Harjinder Johal was on the phone enquiring about the performance off-roader.

The 44-year-old property developer from Halifax said: “The moment I saw it was Steven Gerrard’s car I had to have it – as a Liverpool and England fan.

“And being a footballer’s car, you know there has been no expense spared.

“I was looking for a Range Rover so when I saw the story I sent my son down to have a look at it. He told me it was in great condition so I bought it.”

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard bought the £62,000 4x4 in 2006 and had 22-inch Overfinch alloys fitted at a cost of more than £3,000 – small fry to a man earning a reported £120,000 a week.

He owned the car for less than a year and a half, chalking up 18,000 miles in the Brit-built off-roader.

Sold by GC Motors for £46,490, Gerrard’s Range Rover Sport HST combines luxury, status and performance on and off the road.

Powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine, it accelerates from 0-60mph in 9.1seconds and on to a top speed of 140mph.

And in difficult conditions, the driver can choose between five settings such as snow or ice for the Range Rover Sport to respond best to.
