Save £30k on Jermain Defoe's Jaguar XK

A stunning Jaguar XK Convertible previously owned by England and Portsmouth hotshot Jermain Defoe is for sale on Auto Trader.

This 2007 Jaguar XK is on the market for £39,750 - £30,000 LESS than the £69,000 paid by Defoe for the car last year.

Jermain Defoe is one of the Premiership’s top strikers, hitting the back on the net five times already this season to make him the second top English-born player in the goalscoring charts.

He has forged an enviable partnership with fellow England striker Peter Crouch as Portsmouth have made a solid start to the 2008/09 season.

And the striker's Jaguar is the latest in a line of prestige cars to appear on Auto Trader having previously been owned by a famous footballer.

In the past three months we've had David Beckham's Bentley Arnage, Cristiano Ronaldo's Bentley Continental and Wayne Rooney's Mercedes G55.

Defoe is the only owner of the Jaguar XK which has covered just 6,000 miles over the past 12 months.

Under the bonnet of the Jaguar XK is a 4.2-litre V8 engine which develops 300bhp and 310lb/ of pulling power – enabling 0-62mph in six seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Fitted with a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox, changes up and down in the XK are lightning quick thanks to the steering-wheel mounted controls.

When test driven by Auto Trader, we found the Jaguar XK convertible to be wonderfully controlled at speeds, with a tight feeling, taut chassis despite being slightly less rigid than the coupe version.

Defoe opted for a set of 20-inch wheels at an additional cost of £2,500 and keyless entry which cost a further £430.

Inside, the convertible Jag is adorned with leather seats and walnut trim and features luxuries such as sat-nav, CD player with 6-CD autochanger and dual-zone air conditioning.
