A Porsche Cayenne Turbo previously owned by rock legend Eric Clapton is for sale on Auto Trader.

Grammy award-winning guitarist Clapton was the first owner of this 2005 twin-turbocharged Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Nicknamed ‘Slowhand’ after his habit of repairing broken guitar strings on stage with the crowd clapping him on, Eric Clapton is one of the world’s most influential – and successful – guitarists.

He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times, was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to music and received a BAFTA award for Best Original Television Music Score in 1984.

Clapton’s choice of cars is equally epic – two years ago we had his old Ferrari 550 Maranello up for sale on Auto Trader.

And they don’t get much more epic than this Cayenne: a 2.5-tonne four-wheel drive behemoth sporting a twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine.

Clapton’s old Cayenne churns out a mammoth 500bhp and – despite looking like a house – will sprint from 0-62mph in just 5.1 seconds. To put it into perspective, that’s quicker than the old BMW M3 and faster than a new Ford Focus RS.

Maxed out, the Cayenne will hit 171mph.

The Cayenne comes equipped with a cream leather interior, sat-nav, a Bose stereo system, electric memory seats and privacy glass. Dealer Nash-Konig is also offering 20-inch sport techno wheels for an additional £1,000.

A Porsche Cayenne Turbo costs £76,000 brand new, but Clapton’s old Cayenne – with just 14,000 miles on the clock – is up for grabs at £27,995.
