Oh dear.

One of the wealthiest parts of the world seems to be in dire trouble. A Dubai government-owned company has asked for an extension on its loan repayments until mid 2010.

Now, this might not sound like a big deal, but when you’re a property developer building new islands on earth and super-storey skyscrapers with elevators literally taking you into space, it’s a big deal.

So much so, that European markets have taken a hit because they’re scared Dubai has gone bankrupt…

That’s about as much as we understand really, and it gives us the willies. So to spread some sparkle onto this story, we’ve decided to showcase the more glamorous side of Dubai (which could explain why it’s bankrupt…)

The Crown Prince of Dubai – Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum – is a 27 year-old royal heir schooled at Sandhurst and the London School of Economics and is known for his love of romantic poetry.

But he also has another passion which concerns us greatly: supercars.

Yes, the super-rich royal likes to splash his cash on the cream of the car industry, and in all honesty, we’d probably do exactly the same.
