A special edition Aston Martin DB7 previously owned by Arsenal legend Ian Wright is for sale on Auto Trader.

Former England striker Ian Wright was the first owner of this 1999 Aston Martin DB7 Alfred Dunhill FH coupe, which was built in partnership between the prestigious car brand and the men’s luxury goods maker.

On top of the DB7’s traditional luxury features, the Alfred Dunhill model boasts a humidor for carrying the world’s finest cigars, a special edition clock, charcoal leather seats, chrome trim and a metallic silver paintjob.

The Aston Martin DB7 Alfred Dunhill was initially designed as a limited edition not-for-sale display car but Aston Martin decided to build 150.

However, just 78 rolled off the production line with Ian Wright’s the 14th registered model.

Ian Wright MBE is one of the nation’s most popular sporting figures, famous for his prolific strike rate on the field and entertaining punditry off it.

He was the record goalscorer for Arsenal before Thierry Henry surpassed his 185 mark, but didn’t transfer his domestic form to the international game scoring just nine goals in 31 matches for England.

The Aston Martin DB7’s 3.2-litre engine produces 335bhp and 361lb/ft of pulling power – giving the 1.8-ton super sports car a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 165mph.

But the Midland-built Aston Martin is an expensive car to run, managing an average 18mpg, while being placed in the top insurance group, 20.

A keen petrolhead, Ian Wright appeared on Top Gear as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, taking the Suzuki Liana round the show’s test track in an impressive 1 minute 47.8 seconds.

And it’s not the first time we’ve featured one of Wrighty’s cars.

Last year his old Mercedes SL500 appeared on Auto Trader – and was promptly snapped up.

Now you can get your hands on Ian Wright’s limited edition Aston Martin DB7 – which has covered just 18,000 miles – for £39,950.
