Shock Manchester United signing Michael Owen is the only owner of this Ferrari 599 GTB which he sold to luxury dealer Lawton Brook. The striker, who has also played for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United, spent £24,000 on optional extras for the 205mph Ferrari.
Player fact: Owen turned up for his first training session with United in a BMW 6 Series – a car considerably less flash than this Ferrari.
Price: £80-000 - £100,000
Car: 2002 Bentley Arnage T
Cost new: £245,000
Cost now: £99,000
Previous owner: David Beckham – 112 caps, 17 goals
David Beckham is possibly the world’s most famous person and he’s football’s greatest car collector having owned a stupendous amount of flash motors. When he bought the Bentley in 2002 he spent £70,000 customising it, having a fridge fitted along with getting a few family touches added – wife Victoria’s name is embroidered one of the headrests.
Player fact: Beckham’s first car was a Ford Escort
Car: 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S V12 2+2
Cost new: £183,442

Previous owner: Wayne Rooney – 52 caps, 24 goals
Rooney, who will be leading the Man United strike force with Michael Owen next season, was the first owner of the ultimate Vanquish. With a 6-litre V12 engine developing 600bhp, the Vanquish S will accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 200mph.
Player fact: Despite being just 23-years-old, Rooney has been behind the wheel of 20 cars totalling £1.4 million.

Car: 2007 Bentley Continental Flying Spur
Cost new: £120,000
Cost now: £82,500
Previous owner: Peter Crouch – 34 caps, 16 goals
Six foot seven giant Peter Crouch has just got engaged to long-term girlfriend Abbey Clancy so he’ll need a posh car to be driven to the wedding in. It’s a shame he hasn’t got his Bentley Flying Spur which would have been perfect for the trip to the church (and saved a few quid too). Crouch’s old Bentley has the same 6-litre W12 engine as the GT and GTC models and boasts 556bhp. And that means 194mph in a four-door saloon. We like.
Player fact: Crouch liked the look of the £22,000 Hyundai Santa Fe so much when he saw one on display at the 2006 World Cup that he bought one.

Previous owner: Robbie Fowler – 26 caps, 8 goals
Following Michael Owen and Peter Crouch, Robbie Fowler is the third ex-Liverpool and England player to have an old car up for sale. His former Audi R8 will accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and hit 187mph. When it was launched in 2007, the R8 was Audi’s first full-on supercar and has been a massive success for the German company. It’s a firm favourite with celebrities with models previously owned by the likes of Jay Kay, Simon Cowell, Cristiano Ronaldo and The Hoff.
Player fact: Fowler was banned from driving for six months in March 2009. He was caught using a mobile phone while driving his BMW X5, taking the points on his licence up to 12.

Car: 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante Touchtronic
Cost new: £121,000
Cost now: £59,995
Previous owner: Paul Robinson – 41 caps, 0 goals
Blackburn Rovers star Paul Robinson is the only England goalkeeper to have a former car for sale at the moment. And what a car it is. The Aston Martin DB9 Volante is one of the world’s most beautiful cars and it goes like something off a shovel. With a 6-litre V12 engine developing 450bhp, the DB9 will accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds before hitting 186mph. You can have it for half its original retail price.
Player fact: In October last year Robinson’s old Porsche Cayenne was for sale on Auto Trader for £20,995.

Car: 2002 Mercedes SL 500
Cost new: £71,500
Cost now: £22,000
Previous owner: Frank Lampard – 70 caps, 17 goals
High-scoring midfielder Frank Lampard bought the Mercedes during the early stages of his Chelsea career, owning the convertible until September 2004. The SL 500, with its 306bhp engine, is capable of 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
Player fact: When Lampard’s house was burgled in 2005 he had his Mercedes G Wagon nicked. Thanks to the tracker, police recovered the 4x4 in Battersea with his £2,000 TV still on the back seat.
Since the start of the year there have been a few other England stars’ cars for sale on Auto Trader. But don’t go thinking you can buy these motors – they’ve were snapped up almost instantly
Car: 2008 Overfinch Range Rover Vogue
Cost new: £83,000
Cost used: £53,000 (March 2009)
Previous owner: Steven Gerrard – 74 caps, 14 goals
Do you own one of Steven Gerrard’s old cars? It could sell instantly if you tell us! For the second year running we had one of the Liverpool captain’s old Range Rovers for sale with the model selling within days of us featuring it. The former Gerrard Range Rover had £22,000 of modifications by tuners Overfinch and featured the number 8 on each armrest signifying Stevie’s Liverpool squad number.
Player fact: In 2007 Gerrard accidently knocked down a ten-year-old boy in his Bentley. The kind-hearted Liverpool captain visited him in hospital and gave him a signed England and a pair of Wayne Rooney football boots. Why Rooney? Because the young lad was a Man United fan.
Car: 2006 Mercedes CLK DTM AMG
Cost new: £180,000
Cost used: £149,990 (May 2009)
Previous owner: Wayne Rooney – 52 caps, 24 goals
Put aside the high number of abbreviations, the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG is a super-special supercar. Inspired by a German touring car and with a 582bhp on tap, Rooney’s old CLK was seriously quick, capable of a limited top speed of 200mph. It’s probably a future classic too which is why, in these times, it sold so quickly.
Player fact: With a baby Rooney on the way, Wayne and Coleen have got their first family model – a 572bhp Audi RS6 Avant company car.
Car: 2004 Bentley Continental GT
Cost new: £118,000
Cost used: £53,205 (June 2009)
Previous owner: Rio Ferdinand – 72 caps, 3 goals
Just like team-mate Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand is a keen car lover – and as a Manchester United player it’s the law that he owns a Bentley Continental at some stage. Rio bought the GT in 2004 and it was sold by its third owner on Auto Trader for £65k less than what the England star paid.
Player fact: When Rio turned up for training in his flash Bentley Arnage, a couple of Pranksters from the United team covered it in yogurt. We can’t imagine the £30 million defender was amused.
