An Audi R8 previously owned by former Liverpool and England star Robbie Fowler is for sale on Auto Trader.

Robbie Fowler is one of the Anfield club’s biggest heroes having smashed 183 goals in just 369 games.

In 1994 he scored the Premier League’s fastest ever hat-trick when he put three past Arsenal in just 4 minutes and 33 seconds – a record many believe will stand for years to come.

He’s also one of the game’s richest players having invested his earnings heavily in Liverpool’s fast-developing housing market during the 1990s, making a fortune out of it.

His secondary career as a landlord earned the chant ‘We all live in a Robbie Fowler house’ sung to the tune of The Beatles’ classic ‘We all live in a yellow submarine’.

And in 2008 he splashed some of his rental and football income on this – a stunning Audi R8.

The mid-engined motor was Audi’s first ever supercar, entering the opulent market in 2007 to wide acclaim.

A genuine rival to the Porsche 911, the Audi R8 has a 4.2-litre V8 engine which develops 420bhp. The result is a supercar which will accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 187mph.

And it’s a belter to drive with Auto Trader’s Stuart Milne heaping praise on the car’s direct steering, masses of grip and thunderous engine.

Famous R8 owners have included X Factor star Simon Cowell, footballers Micah Richards, Stephen Ireland and Cristiano Ronaldo and superhero Iron Man although the latter is fictional (we think).

And Zac Efron drives one in 17 Again.

Fowler’s black R8 has a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, four exhausts and is an R Tronic model which means drivers can change gear with paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

Other features inside the R8 include leather seats, sat-nav and climate control.

When Fowler, who is now plying his trade for Queensland in Australia, bought the R8 it cost him nearly £90,000.

But you can get you hands on the one-year-old model, which has covered just 5,000 miles is for sale with Yorkshire dealer Alexanders Prestige for just £67,990
