This is the first picture of Arsenal star Nicklas Bendtner’s smashed up Aston Martin DBS.

The Danish striker miraculously emerged with only minor injuries follow the crash on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was driving along the A1 towards South Mimms on when his car left the road and collided with the hard shoulder fence and a tree.

Pictures show the DBS’ destroyed bumper while the front right wheel is missing, the windscreen smashed and the roof also badly damaged.

The majority of the damage appears to have been to the right-hand side of the DBS.

It’s unknown whether or not the DBS – as driven by James Bond – is right-hand drive or left, with Bendtner driving on the right in his home country. Many Premiership stars from Europe tend do import left-hand drive cars.

The East of England Ambulance Service said he had had a "very lucky escape", suffering a pain in his shoulder and grazes on one of his knees.

The injuries were enough to put him out of last night’s Champions League victory against Olympiakos.

Bendtner is the latest high-profile individual to be involved in a car accident this year.

In September, Chloe Madeley, daughter or TV stars Richard and Judy, was banned from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.

The 22-year-old was arrested after a crash in Barnet, north London, in the early hours of August 16th. Her black Peugeot 206 had clipped another vehicle and overturned.

Spurs midfielder David Bentley was banned from driving for 12 months in August after admitting to driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The 24-year-old England international crashed his Porsche into a lamppost after drinking four pints and two spirits at a gig.

George Michael’s Range Rover suffered serious damage following an incident on A34 in Berkshire at around 1am on a Friday 14th August.

The Range Rover was involved in a collision with a lorry. Neither Michael or the lorry driver, Laurie Rowe, were injured and both were released without charge.

And then there’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The world’s most expensive footballer was travelling through a Manchester tunnel in his new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano when it collided with a roadside barrier.

The £200,000 supercar – which Ronaldo had only recently purchased – suffered serious frontal damage with one of the alloys ripped from the car completely in the January crash.

Ronaldo emerged unscathed and drove home from training the same day in his Bentley Continental GT Speed – a car which would later be sold on Auto Trader.

Police later announced the £80 million man would not face any charges.
