Chris Evans’ Ferrari 550 for sale
26 September 2008 The Ferrari 550 Maranello which Chris Evans filled with roses and gave to Billie Piper as he proposed to her is for sale on Auto Trader. Television and Radio star Evans had only been in a relationship with the then 18-year-old Billie Piper for a few days. Incredibly she didn’t even hold a driving license at the time. The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a two-seater which was launched in 1996 and features a 5.5-litre V12 engine producing 485bhp. Acceleration from 0-60mph takes 4.5 seconds and the silver Ferrari has a top speed of 201mph. It has only completed 18,319 miles and has a black leather interior, CD player, central locking, air conditioning and electric seats. In May this year Chris Evans was confirmed as one of the world’s biggest Ferrari enthusiasts when he spent a record £5.6m on a classic Ferrari 205 GT SWB California Spider at auction. The Sunday Times Rich List 2008 estimate Chris Evans’ wealth at £45 million. In 2006 a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS owned by the former TFI Friday presenter was sold on Auto Trader. The Ferrari 550 Maranello can be snapped up for £44,995. The car is registered as a Category D insurance write off, and has since been repaired and tested and legitimately been put back on the road. |
