View more pics of Richard Burns' Peugeot 206 A Peugeot 206 GTi first owned by the late World Rally Champion Richard Burns is for sale on Auto Trader. The car, which has Burns as the first recorded keeper, was presented to the winner of a track day competition who immediately sold it to the current owner. The UK’s last World Rally Champion, Richard Burns won the competition in 2001 in a Subaru Impreza. But the Englishman – who was also runner-up in 1999 and 2001 – died in 2005 aged 34 after battling a brain tumour. The unique car bears Richard Burns’ signature on the engine cover, and features leather sports seats and a six-CD sound system. Powered by a 2-litre engine the Peugeot 206 GTi produces 180bhp and 130lb/ft of pulling power. This accelerates the pocket rocket from 0-62mph in 7.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph. Last year Subaru announced a limited edition Impreza named RB320 to honour the rally hero. Now you can get your hands on the Peugeot 206 GTi for £6,000 – with a minimum of 2.5 per cent from the sale going to the Richard Burns Foundation.
