Mel C certainly chose the right car � the A3 was launched in 1996 as a three-door model first, to present a sportier alternative to the Volkswagen Golf.

And Mel C � famous for her love of tracksuits � was given the name Sporty Spice.

The Spice Girls went on to become one of the biggest girl groups in the world, racking up sales of over 55 million records and numerous number one hits.

Despite the band�s split in 2001, the girls have reformed and announced an eleven-date world tour called �The Return of the Spice Girls� � tickets for the London leg of the tour were reported to have sold out in just 38 seconds.
