New Order star's Shogun for sale
26 February 2007 A Mitsubishi Shogun previously owned by Peter Hook from Mancunian band New Order is for sale on Auto Trader. The off-roader currently sports a numberplate bearing Hook's nickname 'Hooky', although the bassist is planning on keeping it to transfer to another car. Priced at £6,995, Peter Hook - the car's only owner - specified the silver, 3-litre Shogun with a long list of equipment, including cruise control and leather seats. Peter Hook shot to fame in the late seventies as a member of the English post-punk band Joy Division.
The band's single Blue Monday became the biggest-selling 12-inch single of all time, and they teamed up with John Barnes for the 1990 World Cup track, World in Motion, which reached number one. After the suicide of frontman Ian Curtis, the band renamed themselves New Order and became one of the most critically-acclaimed acts of the 1980s.
