These are the latest shots of the 250mph+ Koenigsegg CCXR – a challenger for the Bugatti Veyron’s crown as the ultimate supercar.

Koenigsegg has taken the CCX’s 5-litre twin supercharged V8 and adapted it to run on biofuel – making it the ultimate green machine.

This means the hypercar produces a reported 1,018bhp and 740lb/ft of pulling power – 200bhp more than the standard model.

This will accelerate the Koenigsegg CCXR from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 250mph.

E85 biofuel results in a higher octane value, making the engine more explosive and creating more power for the Koenigsegg.

The standard 245mph Koenigsegg CCX is officially the fastest production car to lap the Top Gear track when the Stig – who previously crashed one – managed a 1 minute 17.6 seconds bash.

While it may exceed the Bugatti Veyron’s top speed of 253mph, it may still lag behind the SSC Ultimate Aero’s 257mph it clocked earlier this year.

But the Koenigsegg – which will be unveiled to the world at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year – doesn’t come cheap.

It costs £1,070,040 +VAT, but you get a five year warranty and servicing package.
