The 2000 BMW M5 is fitted with a 5-litre V8 engine producing a colossal 400bhp and 369lb/ft. With all this power channelled to the rear wheels through a silky-smooth six-speed gearbox, the 1.8 tonne BMW M5 accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in a sports coupe-quick 5.3 seconds before electronic limiters stop the Beemer at 155mph. But with the limiters removed, expect the German brute to reach a top speed in excess of 180mph. On top of its stunning performance, the BMW M5 is also fitted with a host of luxuries including air-conditioning, electric heated seats, all-round leather and electrics and a six-CD autochanger. But which sporting legend owned this legendary sports saloon? The British sportsman was born at the end of Sixties and won his first world championship in 1990. He reigned supreme through the decade winning the title a further SIX times – beating the previous record held by two fellow Brits.
