Top Gear star Hammond back in dragster
|
by Adrian Hearn Richard Hammond is back behind the wheel of a dragster, just months after his 288mph super smash. But he won’t be visiting an air strip anytime soon - the pint-sized presenter’s rocket-powered machine is actually made from LEGO and is just 18-inches in length. Hammond, 36, was presented with the model at the Top Gear magazine awards after being named Man of the Year. The loveable presenter was given a Lego set in hospital to help him recover from the brain injury he suffered. The Top Gear star has amazed doctors with his rapid recovery after crashing in the Vampire Dragster in September and has just resumed filming the next series of the award-winning motoring show. Meanwhile, co-host Jeremy Clarkson confirmed Top Gear will return to our screens on January 28 next year in its customary 8pm Sunday slot.
