Next year's new TT will usher in the next generation of Audi design, What Car? can reveal. In an exclusive interview with design boss Walter de'Silva, he told us that the new car was designed to be more emotional'.

Previously, Audi design has relied on more geometric shapes, with crisp, straight lines, but the next few production cars will have more dynamism, he said. The Shooting Brake concept, unveiled at this week's Tokyo Motor Show, illustrates the new design direction.

It's true there's a lot of TT in the Shooting Brake,' he said. Especially around the shoulder lines down the side of the car and the overall proportions. The front end has some clues, too.'

The new TT will be launched next year as a coupe and roadster to replace today's iconic duo. De'Silva hinted that a third variant, like the Shooting Brake sports estate, was on the cards too. Expect prices from £23,000.
