More power for Audi A4 V6 diesels
27 January 2006 The V6 diesel now offers the same 230bhp output as it does in the A6, A8 and A4 Cabriolet line up. The 28bhp increase in power reduces the 0-62mph time from 7.2sec to 6.8sec and increases top speed by 6mph to 152mph. The combined fuel consumption of 36.7mpg is unchanged, while the car also remains in the 28% company car tax band. Prices are also unchanged, starting from £27,025 for a saloon and £28,175 for an estate. Don't forget that all A4 models are upgraded to SE specification from entry-level trim until June 30 (find more offers in the weekly deals section of whatcar.com). If the 230bhp diesel doesn't light your fire, how about the 444bhp 5.2-litre V10 in the S8? This car has been priced at £70,780, which is nearly £3000 less than the equally powerful 6.0-litre W12 version of the luxury car. The V10 is based on the 5.0-litre unit used in the Lamborghini Gallardo. With a 0-62mph time of 5.1sec, you'll beat the 6.0-litre by 0.1sec, and even manage 0.1mpg better on the combined cycle at 20.3mpg. |
