Audi is upgrading specification levels on its A4 and A6 saloon and estate.

Until the end of June 2006, buyers can have an upgraded SE version of the A4 saloon or estate, our favourite trim level, for the same price as a standard car.

Usually £610 more expensive, SE models add a CD player, cruise control, and electric rear windows to the standard trim. During the offer period, they also come with 17-inch alloy wheels instead of 16-inch items. Prices start at £19,200.

SE versions of the A6 get a permanent upgrade too, with the replacement of 16-inch alloy wheels with 17-inch affairs and added aluminium trim around the window, door handles and sills.

Until the end of 2006, A6 2.0-litre petrol and diesel models will receive a six-CD changer and satellite-navigation system as standard.
