New sporty trim for A4 Cabrio
31 January 2005
Sportier S-line versions of the Audi A4 Cabriolet can be ordered now, with prices starting at £26,975 for a 161bhp 1.8-litre petrol model.
Available on all models bar the flagship 399bhp S4 Quattro, S-Line trim adds £1950 to the cost of a standard-spec car. It slots above Sport trim, which remains on offer for £750 more than standard models.
Like other S-line models from the Audi stable, the A4 Cabriolet gets the sportiest suspension settings, sports seats finished in cloth and leather upholstery, a three-spoke leather S-line steering wheel and a brushed aluminium dash. However, the Cabriolet also gets 18-inch alloys where the saloon and Avant have to make do with 17-inch wheels.
Existing standard equipment is unchanged. All A4 Cabriolets are fitted with an electrically operated soft-top roof, electric front and rear windows, climate control, CD stereo, four airbags and remote central locking.
The £27,615 168bhp 2.4-litre petrol and £29,400 161bhp 2.5-litre diesel are only available as front-wheel-drive cars. The entry-level 161bhp 1.8- and £30,515 217bhp 3.0-litre petrol can be specified with Quattro four-wheel drive for an extra £1400.
A face-lifted version of the A4 Cabriolet with Audi's new single-frame grille is expected before the end of the year.
