Audi sets prices for five-door A3
26 July 2004
The new five-door A3 Sportback will cost from £16,010 when sales start this August - that's £500 more than equivalent three-door cars.
The range starts with a 100bhp 1.6-litre petrol model and is topped by the £24,625 3.2-litre Quattro.
Specification levels are the same as those for three-door A3s, so all will get alloy wheels, remote central locking, traction control, side and curtain airbags and electric front windows. Climate control and a CD player are fitted to all except the entry-level car. Rear electric windows are also fitted to every model in the range.
By November, every engine and gearbox currently available in the three-door range will be offered in the Sportback, along with a new 200bhp 2.0-litre petrol that will eventually make it into the three-door.
This new engine, as well as the 3.2-litre V6 petrol and 138bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel, will be available with Audi's Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), an automatically operated manual transmission that provides fast, smooth gearchanges.
