Audi is slashing the price of its baby MPV and has reduced the number of models in the range. Equipment levels have been improved at the same time.

The car will die out when production comes to an end in 2006, as a replacement is not planned.

One trim level, called Special Edition, replaces standard, SE and Sport specifications with immediate effect. Despite the name, Special Edition will remain the only trim level available until the car ends production in 2006.

The 110bhp petrol and 89bhp diesel engines have also been dropped. This leaves buyers with a choice of the two 74bhp 1.4-litre engines - one petrol and one diesel.

Prices are £12,715 for the petrol and £13,695 for the diesel. This undercuts the previous standard-level cars by up to £1025. Climate control and a CD player are now fitted as standard.
