17 September 2007 The Mercedes CLS rival will be based on the A6 executive car, and we'll probably see a concept version at the 2008 New York Auto Show. Up to six engine options are expected to be available: among the petrol engines could be 3.0-litre V6, 4.2-litre V8 and 5.0-litre non-turbo and turbo V10 petrols, while 3.0-litre V6 and 4.2-litre V8 diesels are tipped to make up the range. Prices are likely to begin at £35,000 and reports already suggest a soft-top model could follow. Meanwhile, Mercedes is readying a face-lift for the CLS saloon in 2008, before an all-new replacement arrives in 2011. |
