Looks like even the great 007 may have to watch his carbon emissions in the future.

With the customary James Bond reference out of the way, ladies and gentlemen, this is the Aston Martin Volare concept.

Now, it hasn’t come from Aston Martin, but from the fertile mind of 23-year old design student James Trim.

His Volare concept takes clear reference from the DBS and DB9 thanks to that side profile and bootylicious rear end, and we can’t help but think the front grille has more than a hint of Jack Nicholson’s Joker-smile to it…

Underneath the swooping curves of this British beauty lies not the heart of a V12 monster – but an electric motor powered by a fuel-cell stack comprised of hydrogen.

Trim says his concept is an all-wheel drive model with the motor and fuel cells evenly spread across the car to maintain optimum weight distribution.

And just in case adenoidal Aston fans are getting ready to hit internet forums to vent their distaste at this electric concept, Coventry University graduate James says the Volare “would retain the fantastic sound and outright performance customary with that of a petrol equivalent.

“It would provide drivers the world over with equal amounts of guilt-free motoring.”

James added: “The underlying aim when designing the Volare was to combine present day technologies with the profile of a car that would be instantaneously recognisable as that of an Aston Martin.”

An emission-free Aston Martin with looks to kill and a high-performing powerplant?

We certainly hope Gaydon is paying attention to this young man...
