The name’s DBS – Aston Martin DBS.

Aston Martin has confirmed the new DBS model will feature in the forthcoming James Bond adventure, due to be released in November 2008.

The stunning Aston Martin DBS – based on the DB9 – made its debut in the 2006 hit Casino Royale, starring new James Bond, Daniel Craig.

And while the film may have smashed box office records, the DBS made it into the record books, when stuntman Adam Kirtley rolled the gorgeous Aston Martin seven times in the film’s dramatic chase scene.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Ulrich Bez said: “Aston Martin is very proud of its long association with James Bond. The DBS has its own unique character which equals James Bond.

“It is explosive power in a black tie, and we are all very excited at the prospect of seeing it on the big screen again.”

The new Aston Martin DBS costs £160,000 – and comes with a two-year waiting list.

Based on the DB9, the new DBS houses a six-litre V12 engine based on its Vanquish stablemate, producing 510bhp and 420lb/ft of pulling power.

This is enough to propel Bond – and any lucky owner – from 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds and on to a staggering 191mph top speed, making it the fastest production Aston ever.

Weight has been cut by 120kg, by fitting lighter seats, lighter brakes and carbon fibre panels.
