This is the hot new Alfa Romeo Mi.To – the company’s sexy new supermini wading into battle against the Mini Cooper and new Ford Fiesta.

The all-new Alfa Romeo Mi.To is instantly recognisable as a modern Alfa – it shares design elements with the stunning Alfa 8C Competizione and is the first brand new model to emerge from the company since the supercar.

Named after ‘Milan’ and ‘Turin’ (Torino), the Alfa Romeo Mi.To was the centre of a ‘naming competition’ by Alfa Romeo last year, when they asked the public to choose from a list of names.

The winner of the naming competition was ‘Furiosa’ – but Alfa bosses chose to base the name around the Mi.To’s design centre in Milan, and its production hub in Turin.

The three-door Alfa Romeo Mi.To is expected to share the same base as the Fiat Grande Punto, and is 4 metres long and just 1.4 metres high.

The Mi.To comes equipped with three different driver settings which control the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and the gearbox.

‘All-Weather’ provides the best grip in difficult driving conditions, ‘Normal’ is the best setup for town driving, while ‘Dynamic’ changes the Alfa Mi.To into a more sporting drive.

Alfa will launch the Mi.To with a range of four engines with power outputs ranging from 90bhp to 155bhp, and the engine line-up will later be extended by “even higher power ratings.”

Prices have not yet been announced, but expect the all new Alfa Romeo Mi.To to compete with the class-leading Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper.

The Alfa Romeo Mi.To will be shown to the world’s press in June and will gradually be released throughout the world.
