The Alfa Romeo 147 Ducati Corse is a spicy new addition to the 147 line-up, on sale here in limited numbers from April 2008.

The 147 Ducati Corse has a new 1.9-litre JTDM diesel engine pushing out an impressive 170bhp.

Alfa’s hatchback accelerates from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 8 seconds, bowling on to a top speed of 134mph.

To harness the increase in power a ‘Q2’ self-locking differential is fitted to the front axle, balancing the forces between the front wheels.

Alfa Romeo claim the ‘Q2’ system significantly improves roadholding, reducing understeer and giving the 147 handling among the best in class.

A sport button allows the driver to choose between two engine settings. The standard position makes for more relaxing driving and cruising, while the sport setting enhances the car’s dynamic responses.

The body in red, black or white comes with a ‘Ducati Corse’ logo along its side skirts and chrome detailing under its indicators and on the rear hatch.

There is an option to have red painted brake callipers, beneath the unique 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear chrome tailpipes add to the car’s sporting swagger.

Inside all major surfaces are trimmed in black fabric, with red accents and details, including the ‘Ducati Corse’ logo on the seats and door scuff plates.

Dual-zone climate control, Bose CD sound system and a multi-function steering wheel are all standard.

The Alfa Romeo 147 Ducati Corse is on sale in the UK in April in limited numbers.
