Alfa Romeo’s latest convertible is on sale in the UK and Auto Trader has the official pictures.

Styled by Italian legends Pininfarina, there are four versions of the Spider available.

The entry level JTS is powered by a 2.2-litre 16-valve petrol engine, producing 185bhp and 170lb/ft of pulling power. Accelerating from 0-62mph (100kph) the JTS has a top speed of 138mph.

For a more red-blooded performance, the top-end 3.2-litre V6 produces 260bhp and 237lb/ft channelled to all four wheels, enabling a 0-62mph time of 7 seconds and a top speed of 150mph.

The V6 is also available with Alfa’s QTRONIC six-speed semi-automatic transmission which features paddle-shifters on the steering wheel.

A 2.4-litre turbodiesel model will also be available, producing 200bhp and 295lb/ft of pulling power - enabling a top speed of 142mph while retuning a combined 41.5mpg.

The fully automatic roof folds into a dedicated storage area in less than 25 seconds via a single switch.

All models come with five airbags, cruise control, parking sensors and 17-inch alloy wheels. Optional extras include xenon headlights, sat-nav, Bose sound system and 18-inch alloys.

Prices start at 25,995 for the base petrol model rising to £32,700 for the top-end V6.
