More than 9500 Renault Modus superminis have been recalled, as well as nearly 900 Alfa Romeos from the 147 hatchback and 166 executive car ranges.

The recalls concern steering parts being incorrectly fitted on the Modus, and potentially leaky Alfa Romeo fuel tanks.

A total of 9516 Modus superminis are affected, which includes all models produced up to April this year. While not dangerous, the problem can cause vibrations through the steering wheel. The recall is a result of one reported case in France, and the inspection and repair time is roughly 25 minutes.

Alfa Romeo cars from the 147 and 166 ranges produced in the middle of last year have a potentially faulty fuel tank, which can crack if completely filled. If the fault is present, the fuel tank will need to be replaced.

Owners of cars recalled will be contacted. However, those who are unsure if their car is affected should contact their nearest dealer.
