This Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 MR FQ has more power than practically every supercar – and you can get your hands on it with Auto Trader.

When it left the factory the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution’s 2-litre engine was pumping out 345bhp, accelerating it from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds – quicker than an Aston Martin DB9.

But this wasn’t fast enough for its owner, who delivered the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution to RC Developments – a specialist in tuning Japanese sports cars.

Four weeks and £30,000 later, the EVO emerged from the garage, boasting 700bhp on standard fuel, or 800bhp on a richer racing mixture.

With this level of power RC Developments tell us it should accelerate from 0-60mph in “less than three seconds” and not stop gathering pace until “nearly 200mph”.

Company director Danny O’Hara said, “For £44,995, this car is fantastic value for money and should eat Ferraris and Lamborghinis for breakfast.”

The engine has been increased in capacity to 2.4-litres and has had most of its parts replaced with racing-standard items.

Almost every mechanical part of the car has been beefed up, including its new suspension and powerful brakes.

The interior has remained standard and keeps its creature comforts thanks to the owner’s desire to use the car on the road.

This Mitsubishi Lancer is one of the UK’s most powerful fully road legal EVOs, with some owners using theirs as ‘racing track-only’ cars without number plates.
