23 October 2007 Mugen Honda Jazz slideshow Power upgrades and aggressive new bumpers might not make the standard 98bhp 1.3-litre supermini into a racing car but they certainly add some spice. In Japan the Honda Jazz is called the Honda Fit, and Mugen translates to ‘without limits’, so the result should be a super-lean slab of supermini. The list of available performance add-ons include a rorty sports exhaust, lowered sports-suspension, ‘quick-shift’ gear change and brake pads designed to provide more stopping power. Standing outside you can admire the sports grille and new front fog lights set into the redesigned front bumper. Side skirts flow the low stance to the back of the Jazz where there is a ground-hugging rear bumper and two chromed exhaust pipes. A spoiler is available to complete the look. Inside, dials for water and oil temperature sit in pods at the side of the dashboard. According to Mugen’s Japanese website the upgrades cost 200,000 yen which equates to just under £900.
