British Bentley with Bavarian brawn hits 206mph
20 September 2007
by Andy Goodwin A top tuning company has released details of a crazy 206mph Bentley Continental GTC. German modifier MTM has taken the Bentley’s 6-litre W12 engine and increased power from 560bhp to an epic 650bhp. This power is channelled through all four wheels via an automatic gearbox. The Bentley-on-steroids accelerates from 0-62mph (100kph) in 4.2 seconds and onto 206mph, making it one of the world’s fastest convertibles. MTM reprogrammed the Bentley’s air suspension to give it a lower, sleeker look and sharper handling. The Bentley Continental GTC Birkin Edition by MTM – to give it its full name – does not have a bodykit but rolls on 20-inch alloys and boasts four stainless steel exhaust pipes. Earlier this week we reported on another tuned Bentley - the Mansory GTC – with a similar level of power and a more ‘bling’ style than MTM’s baby. Standard Continental GTCs retail at £130,000 so expect the Birkin Edition to cost in excess of £150,000.
