Mind-blowing 210mph modified Corvette
25 July 2007
Say hello to the world’s latest supercar – the ultra-exclusive 210mph Callaway C16 Speedster. The C16 is based on the 400bhp 6-litre Corvette C6, which has a top speed of 186mph. Modifying specialists Reeves Callaway have redesigned the C6 and fitted a hand-built supercharged and intercooled 6.2-litre V8 producing 700bhp and 660lb/ft of pulling power. This means the topless C16 accelerates from 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds before running out of steam at 210mph. To improve handling, the Speedster is fitted with an advanced suspension which the driver can customise for different road settings. And stopping power is optimised with massive 355mm StopTech brake discs. Built to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary of working with Corvette, the American motor is also fitted with ultra-light 19-inch front and 20-inch rear carbon fibre wheels. To increase exclusivity, all Speedster’s interior and exterior colours are tailored to the owner’s personal specification.
