A driver who crashed the world's fastest car has been fined £400 and his license endorsed with nine points.

Logistics manager Ajay Soni, 39, lost control of a Bugatti Veyron in Surrey and collided with a Vauxhall Astra.

The crash made headlines around the world as the first Veyron to be involved in a serious accident.

Magistrates in Staines heard how Soni's brother Kumar had taken delivery of the £830,000 supercar just eight days before the accident.

They were told the Veyron spun three times before hitting trees on an accident blackspot in Shepperton, Surrey.

Soni admitted careless driving

No one was injured in the crash.
