Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster - first pics

Mercedes has unveiled the stunning new SLR McLaren Roadster.

The £350k super sports car has a top speed of 207mph, and accelerates from 0 to 60mph in 3.8 seconds.

The car shares the sleek arrow-shaped tip of its coupé counterpart, and is powered by a 626bhp AMG V8 compressor engine.

The carbon fibre car borrows technology from Formula One vehicles, and features a stunning interior, a premium BOSE sound system, and a fully retractable top.

The German manufacturers promise conversation is possible at well over 120mph on open-top journeys, thanks to superb aeroacoustics.

The car is made at McLaren's Formula One plant in Woking, is is reported to be on sale from September.
